New Findings about Propolis in Biological Cancer Therapy

Brazilian Honeybees are producing Green Propolis from resins they collect from leave buds of the alecrim plant to protect the beehive against disease, that’s why it is also called the external immune system of the bee. It is important to know that there are many different kinds of propolis available. Dark brown, Green and Red are only a few colors that are available. Green Propolis can be found exclusively in Brazil and has been shown to strengthen the immune system, to help to protect against toxicity from environmental toxins like dioxins and pesticides, to detoxify heavy metals and fight off bacteria, fungi and even viruses like the influenza virus causing flu in humans.

Interestingly, one third to one forth of ordinary people have cancer once in their life, but most beekeepers do not (only one out of 3,000 beekeepers suffers from cancer in their lives). The questions for researchers are, “Can we learn something from the 300 million years old wisdom of the honeybees?” and “Could propolis be an effective natural healer for cancer?”

Propolis has been shown to be effective in fighting cancer for many years now. Already Hippokrates (460-377 BC) used propolis to treat different kinds of cancer. Now we do have the technology to say why and how propolis is so effective against cancer. Artepillin C extracted from Green Propolis has been patented in Japan for its anti-cancer properties. Green Propolis simultaneously attacks the cancer cells, moderates the secondary effects of cancer, such as inflammation and pain, and by stimulating the immune system and inducing apoptosis Green Propolis creates synergistic effects to assist the body in fighting the disease. Recently was published, that Green Propolis is able to block the PAK1 signal, that 70% of all human cancers are known to depend on to thrive. A full 100% of NF tumors depend on PAK1 for their growth and survival. Fighting cancer using Biological Signal Therapy does attack only the cancer cells and leaves the normal cells unharmed, so no hair loss or immune suppression has been reported. While chemotherapy only is effective with fast-growing tumors that have a fast metabolism, signal therapy works also with slowly growing tumors that are difficult to treat in humans otherwise. Green Propolis blocks the PAK1 signal that cancer needs to grow without affecting other enzymes that the body needs to work properly. Other diseases that require PAK1 are epilepsy, malaria, AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis and asthma.
